Cyber thugs strip Mona Singh of dignity

Best remembered for her stellar debut on TV in 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin', Mona Singh, who enjoys considerable fan following for her modest, girl-next-door sensibilities, was caught unawares by a MMS clip that went viral on Thursday night.

When we spoke to TV actor Karan Oberoi, who had once dated Mona, he said, "If I react to this, it would simply give it undue importance. It is a foolish thing to do because the source can be easily detected. We should not give importance to such incidents that can leave anyone emotionally scarred."

Vidyut is said to be quite disturbed by the insinuations. "He is not even in the video. This definitely seems like someone's out to tarnish their (the couple's) image. Why would anyone want to do this to a girl?" Friends of Mona suspect the MMS is the mastermind of someone who' may've been close to her.

The nature of the clip and its timing, have fuelled speculations that Mona may be a victim of a murkier conspiracy. A source close to Mona's boyfriend, actor Vidyut Jamwal said, "The clip has emerged at a time when Vidyut's film is about to release. Everyone knows Mona and Vidyut are dating. Someone's tried to make it look as though Vidyut has done this for publicity."

The said MMS shows a woman walking around the house without any clothes on. It is evident from her demeanour that she is comfortable and trusting enough with the person shooting her, to drop her inhibitions. Mona has lodged a complaint with the cyber cell at the D N Road police station in Andheri, claiming the clip is doctored.
